Havas Media, ‘Internet Users Have Grown to Maturity’.

Exclusively released through Stratégies, Havas Media has put out a qualitative study showing that internet users have developed a higher level of maturity than was once assumed.

The study focused on candidates who were aged under 65 and who owned a mobile phone. “This study serves to precisely measure the evolution of internet users to understand the consequences on the media planning industry,” highlighted Pascal Dasseux, CEO of Havas Digital and ‘directeur general adjoint’ of Havas Media. The study illustrated internet traffic specific to age groups. An example of this is the fact that 15-24 year olds are more inclined to go online at night and visit social media websites, while 50-64 years olds go online earlier in the day and focus more on info-centric websites.

The moral of the study is that no matter the age group or website being visited, internet users show an impressive high internet IQ with regards to releasing and accepting information. In the end, people are completely aware that brands and companies try to manipulate them on a daily basis. “To get reliable opinions, one needs to visit official forums. This is a result of the enormous amount of nonsense on the web,” explains one young man who was surveyed. People seem to be shifting towards greater responsibility and caution concerning their personal information
