For the second time in three years, Les Agences de l’Année, a leading French trade organization for the European communication industry, has named Euro RSCG Europe “The European Communication Group of the Year” for 2009. Euro RSCG was awarded this honor based on a number of criteria, including a high number of new business wins, strong client loyalty, superior creative performance, good business results despite a difficult economic climate and a solid agency reputation across markets.

“I’m delighted that Euro RSCG has been named European Agency Network of the Year for 2009. I think it underscores the strength of our ‘digital at the core’ model - from creating Evian Rollerbabies, the most downloaded piece of digital content ever that made it into the Guinness Book of Records, to winning the largest digital pitch in Europe’s history for EDF, to having just announced our global IBM digital win to the 10 million climate allies for tcktcktck, we have some wonderful momentum behind us as we move into 2010,” said David Jones, Global CEO of Havas Worldwide and Euro RSCG Worldwide.

“It all rewards the constant efforts we made in Europe to enhance creativity, to strengthen our positions in every country and to work together. I personally believe that Europe is a major stake for communication networks. Let us not forget that it remains the largest marketplace in the world for many industries”, added Mercedes Erra, Executive President of Euro RSCG Worldwide.

Euro RSCG Europe experienced a successful year in new business with 598 wins (new clients and/or assignments) throughout all communication disciplines. This number includes 13 of the top 100 global brands and represents an increase of 31,3% of the value of new business in 2008 versus 2007.

European business results as a whole increased by 2,6% (compared to a 1,6% evolution of the European market benchmark), resulting in Euro RSCG Europe outperforming its competitors by far. It was also an excellent year in terms of creative performance with 177 international and regional creative awards won, including 13 exceptional prizes such as “Grand Prix, Trophy and Best of”. Altogether, 22 agencies got awarded in 11 countries and cross-disciplines.
